On Monday, September 1st, we hike the valley of Frousei & visit an olive press!

As part of the Andros North Culture Festival, in collaboration with Andros Routes, we will hike and clear this beautiful route in northern Andros, in the valley and gorge of Frousei. Watermills, traditional bridges, agricultural residences, impressive rock formations, and small waterfalls are some of the attractions! We’ll be joined by Yiannis Tridimas, who will bring to life the history and workings of the old water mills. The hike will be followed by a tour of the olive press in Varidi, where participants will also have the opportunity to purchase local products and get more information about the work of Andros Routes and the Andros Research Center.

Difficulty level: medium

Distance: about 4 km

With our steps, we are helping to keep the path open! Along the way, we will also cut back any vegetation that has grown back to block the path and clear garbage.
