A HIKE TO MAINTAIN ANDROS’ FOOTPATHS

We have finished way-marking route number 15a so now we can hike together!

On Sunday the 1st of February at 10:30 we start our 6th hike to maintain Andro’s footpaths.

Scholi–Ano Gavrio/Agia Mavra church–Ano Agios Petros-Scholi

• We start from the road junction leading to Scholi, on the main road from Gavrio to Ano Agios Petros.

• We ascend towards Ano Gavrio taking a beautiful wooded walled path to soon reach a gorgeous ravine of Ano Gavrio and the church of Agia Mavra.

• We continue along a dirt track towards Ano Agios Petros where we have the option of taking a break at the square and the spring of the village.

• We finally descend along a “steni” path returning to our starting point.

With our steps we are helping to keep the path open! Along the way we will also cut back any vegetation which has grown back to block the path and clear any garbage. At the end of our hike we can have a meal together!
