We are deeply saddened by the destruction caused by fire to one of the most beautiful landscapes of Andros, that of the Paleopolis valley.

The area is crossed by the circular section of one of the routes maintained by the people of the Andros Routes project, which was thoroughly checked today, September 21, by our volunteer Antonis Sassalos. It was found to be closed at three points due to the fall of a large amount of burnt vegetation.

We advise those interested in hiking not to walk the route, not only because of the obstacles but also because of the strong smell of burnt vegetation.

The route will be cleared by a crew in the coming days, and we will issue a new announcement.
