Beach cleanups of Batsi & Megala Peza

An initiative by the Healthy Seas Foundation in collaboration with the Municipal Community of Batsi and the Andros North Culture Festival

The Healthy Seas Foundation is honored to invite you to our informative booth at the port in Batsi on Saturday, September 6, between 2 and 6 p.m., in collaboration with the Municipal Community of Batsi and the Andros North Culture Festival.

Young and old alike will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities and interactive games aimed at raising awareness about marine pollution, specifically the problem of “ghost fishing” and environmental protection.

In addition, visitors will be able to “immerse” themselves in the virtual reality experience of Healthy Seas and become divers themselves, with the mission of removing a ghost net from a shipwreck and discover how it can be transformed into sustainable products through circular economy.

At the same time, an underwater cleanup will take place in the port of Batsi. Divers will work to retrieve ghost fishing gear and other debris from the seabed of the Batsi port. Visitors will be able to watch the cleanup operation up close and talk to the coordinator who will be on land to provide information about the underwater operation and the mission of Healthy Seas.

What kind of “lost treasures” lie on the Batsi port seabed?

We look forward to discovering it with you!
