Andros moves to the next level: From the certified hiking route to Leading Quality Region!
Invitation to an information event on European top quality certification
Fifteen years have already passed! In 2010, the Andros Routes initiative began with vision and determination. Today, Andros is no longer the same destination:

From 70 km to 240 km: A fully signposted path network built to European standards.

International Pioneer: The first island in Europe to receive the “Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe” certification for the 100 km route (Andros Route).

Quality Assurance: 16 years of continuous path maintenance and visitor support.

Real Results: An extended visitor season, with travelers from around the world exploring our villages and hinterland in spring and autumn.
What is the next step?
As competition grows, Andros is called to take a major leap forward: to pursue the higher-level “Leading Quality Region” certification.
This no longer concerns only the paths, but the island as a whole destination. It is a strategy for sustainable development that will enhance:
1. the island’s international visibility and recognition,
2. the competitiveness of local businesses — accommodation, dining, infrastructure, and services for residents and visitors.

This initiative, supported by the Tourism Committee of the Municipality of Andros, requires the collaboration of professionals, associations, institutions, and local authorities.

➡️ Presentation: Two experts from the European Hiking Federation (ERA) will present the certification process, its benefits, and the required steps.

The event is held with the support of the Andros Regional Authority, the Municipality of Andros, and the Association of Rooms & Apartments for Rent of Hydrousa “Agios Philippos.” Ferry tickets for the speakers were kindly offered by Fast Ferries, Golden Star Ferries, the Porto Andros travel agency, while accommodation and local transfers are provided by Explore Andros.
