From South Africa to Andros for hiking

Paul (71 years old) and Rosemarie (67 years old) from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, traveled all the way to Andros to hike the paths maintained by the volunteers of Andros Routes, and they sent us the following message.

We thank them warmly!

Hello,

We have been back in South Africa for a month now, and our wonderful holiday seems to have happened so long ago.

We would just like to thank you once again, and all those involved in the Andros trails, for providing us with such an excellent experience. The trails were extremely well marked so we never needed to worry about getting lost. This gave us the freedom to enjoy walking, rather than navigating all the time!

Also, the variation between hill walking and level tracks, where it was possible, was much appreciated. The distances for each day were not too long, so we could take our time and enjoy each day.

The Andros Route website is full of useful information, and we used it to prepare for each day’s walking – it was very helpful to know what the elevation was for each day, as we do not normally do so much climbing in our local hiking.

We loved our night at the lodge, and the meals that were provided – it felt very special to be such a small village.

Good luck with the Andros Route project and may it go from strength to strength.

Kind regards
Paul and Rosemarie Roth
